Position:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a CDU Production Manager within our Central Decontamination Unit based at Ayrshire Central Hospital.
What you will do:
The role requires a motivated, enthusiastic and committed individual to provide operational leadership within the CDU. The CDU provides a MHRA compliant, high quality and cost-effective decontamination service throughout NHS Ayrshire & Arran.
The post holder will have operational responsibility for the decontamination service which underpins and supports the clinical service strategy of ensuring patient safety, meeting clinical targets and waiting times. The decontamination service has a direct impact upon patient care.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:
Essential requirements for the post are demonstrable experience in a leadership role within decontamination with a proven track record as a team player and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, maintaining effective communications among the team with sensitivity in pursuit of establishing trust and respect throughout.
You will have excellent organisational skills together with a highly developed knowledge of decontamination processes, equipment, chemistries, surgical instruments, testing and associated legislation. A working knowledge of an IT tracking and traceability system and experience of a Quality Management System and the requirements for a compliant service are necessary for the post.

Hours:
37 hours per week
Monday – Friday 7am – 8pm
As a demand led service, these working hours/days may be varied from time to time and may include working unsocial hours and/ or Public Holidays. You will be expected to be completely flexible in your hours of work to suit the needs of the service.UK Driving Licence/Car Ownership:
The postholder is required to cover on-call duties on a rotational basis.
Due to on-call requirement, candidates should be based within 30 minutes travel of hospital site
A UK car licence/car ownership is essential to this role.
