Macmillan Head & Neck Clinical Nurse Specialist

We are looking for a motivated, compassionate, dependable nurse to join our Head & Neck and Thyroid Cancer team as a Band 7 Clinical Nurse Specialist. This role works alongside experienced Clinical Nurse Specialists to deliver holistic, patient‑centred care throughout the Head & Neck Cancer pathway.
Key duties:
* Provide high‑quality care and psychosocial support for head and neck cancer patients and their families.
* Act as a key worker, offering guidance, support and appropriate referrals.
* Conduct advanced clinical assessment in nurse‑led clinics, managing patients independently.
* Contribute to the development of nurse‑led clinics and collaborate with clinicians.
* Maintain high‑quality communication, ensuring timely management of unexpected events.
* Attend multidisciplinary team meetings and represent the MDT at regional meetings.
* Lead and mentor junior colleagues, support clinical education, develop protocols and quality‑improvement initiatives.
* Adhere to national and Trust policies, including Health and Safety and IT system use.
* Participate in audit, education and research activities, evaluating survey results and providing specialist education.
Requirements:
* Band 7 nursing qualification and experience in oncology or head & neck nursing.
* Clinical assessment skills and experience with nurse‑led clinics.
* Strong leadership, mentoring and communication skills.
* Experience with MDT working and involvement in protocol development.
* UK immunisation and vaccination report from occupational health or GP.

Salary: £49,387 to £56,515 per annum, pro rata. Contract: Permanent (Part‑time).
