What you’ll be doing As a Maintenance Electrician, you’ll focus on the electrical reliability of a wide range of PLC-controlled automated equipment while also assisting with mechanical tasks when required. You’ll be a key figure in keeping this new site operating at peak performance. Your responsibilities will include: Electrical fault finding on motors, drives, inverters, relays, and safety circuits. Reading and working from electrical schematics to diagnose and repair faults. Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPMs). Responding to electrical breakdowns quickly and effectively. Supporting continuous improvement projects, upgrades, and installations. Contributing to root cause analysis and long-term reliability improvements. Assisting mechanical colleagues with bearings, belts, and gearboxes where required. This role is ideal for a Maintenance Electrician who thrives on working with modern, high-tech systems and wants to develop further in PLCs, automation, and controls. What the client is looking for To succeed as a Maintenance Electrician, you’ll need: Apprentice-trained NVQ Level 3 qualification in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent). Strong skills in fault finding, isolations, and working safely on 415v systems. Confidence using multimeters and interpreting electrical drawings. Experience within fast-paced or automated manufacturing environments is advantageous. A methodical, safety-first mindset with a willingness to continue developing skills. Flexibility to work in a single-skilled electrical capacity while supporting the wider team.
