Description We are currently recruiting for a Business Manager to work in the Major Projects Directorate Business Support Team to support the continuous innovation and strong core values of Transport Scotland in an everchanging and exciting environment. The focus of a Business Manager role is to provide high level dedicated and informative support to the Director of Major Projects within Transport Scotland, ensuring that the wider directorate, actions and deadlines are prioritised, co-ordinated and managed. You should consider how you would respond to very competing deadlines. The individual will be part of a wider senior business management team which acts in response to Transport Scotland’s business priorities. As such working closely with staff is key to success within this role. There is one role available at present however we will hold a reserve list for a period of 9 months should any further roles become available within that period. The role will be based in 177 Bothwell Street, Glasgow. The current structure of the Major Projects Director team is the Director of Major Projects, this role, and an Assistant Business Manager. Responsibilities Provide a high end comprehensive and dedicated support service to your Director, preparing papers, presentations and relevant briefing for Director’s meetings (internal and external), providing secretariat for internal management meetings, collating and circulating papers, producing reports and ensuring actions are followed up. Ensure all information supplied is up to date and takes account of cross directorate interests. Lead on the coordination of Chief Executive and Ministerial correspondence, PQs, FOI requests, etc. ensuring deadlines are met and content is consistent in messaging, formatting and style. Proactively provide guidance and support to teams where required. In conjunction with others in the Directorate, coordinate and manage the Directorate Risk Register, the development of Directorate Business planning and financial processes. Lead on Directorate input to TS corporate, Ministerial and wider SG requests for information, including the relevant business plans, ensuring that the directorate always provides quality, timely and cohesive responses. Coordinate directorate briefing / briefing contributions for Ministerial attendance at Cabinet, Committees, public meetings and stakeholder events. Providing timely, accurate and quality feedback both to the Director / directorate colleagues. You will be responsible for the directorate induction process and for reviewing and providing digital communications colleagues updates for the directorate web based information. Please note the post will also have line management responsibility.
