The Old School Henstead – Beccles, Suffolk NR34 7LG £22,500 - £29,000 per annum 8.15am – 4.15pm, with one or two days ending at 5pm, 34 weeks per year Part Time Permanent Reference: 7407 Required to start 2 September 2025 Your role To support a child with complex medical needs to enable them to access education To make decisions regarding medical management of the child, following the individual care plan To support a child with interventions with a focus on reading support You will: provide one-to-one educational and medical support of the child in all lessons and medical support during break times (30 minutes for lunch) plan engaging ways of teaching, particularly reading motivate and encourage the child to learn help the child to focus on and complete work set provide daily interventions complete regular reviews of educational support with the teacher support the school in general You will need Essential: After relevant training has been provided, to be signed off as competent to undertake necessary complex medical care Recognised competence in literacy and numerical ability Experience in providing learning support to key stage 2 children Experience in supporting teaching and learning Desirable: NVQ level 3 or equivalent in childcare, health and social care or education Experience of supporting a child with medical needs and/or working in complex medical care Experience of supporting a child with dyslexia Due to the child’s age, it is likely they will move on to a senior school in or around Loddon, Norfolk. With this in mind, we are ideally looking for someone who would be open to the possibility of continuing in the role and transitioning with the child to that location, should the opportunity arise.
