Role Overview
* Carry out full strip-down, inspection, diagnosis, and rebuild of large industrial reduction gearboxes
* Overhaul hydraulic pumps, motors, engines, and related mechanical components
* Work on complex, high-value assemblies requiring precision and strong technical knowledge
* Ensure all rebuild work meets required accreditation and quality standards
* Support workshop setup, workflow planning, and continuous improvement
* Contribute to a strong culture of safety, quality, and engineering excellence
Requirements
* Proven experience stripping and rebuilding industrial gearboxes (essential)
* Strong background in hydraulics including pumps, motors, valves, and related systems
* Mechanical fitting/workshop engineering experience from industrial, plant, automotive, marine, or similar sectors
* Ability to work methodically and accurately on complex assemblies
* Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and good team communication skills
Salary and Benefits
* £40,000 - £45,000 per annum (DOE)
* 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:00-17:00
* Early finish on Fridays (around 16:00)
* Occasional overtime available but not guaranteed
* Training provided on specialist gearbox systems
