Overview
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinician or existing team leader to join a friendly, established and effective Home Treatment Team based at St Ann's Hospital in Poole and covering the East Dorset area.
The Home Treatment Teams provide short-term intensive community care and treatment for service users in Dorset over 18, experiencing an acute and severe episode of mental illness.
Home Treatment Teams are an integral part of the Trust Access Mental Health Services Access Mental Health Dorset (dorsethealthcare.nhs.uk) and are closely linked to both community and inpatients. The primary aims are to support service users to remain at home (or other community setting), avoid unnecessary hospital admissions, and facilitate earlier discharge from hospital.
Role and Responsibilities
* Provide day-to-day operational management for the Home Treatment Team, ensuring safe staffing and staff development, and clinical management to ensure excellent patient care.
* Lead in a compassionate, person-centred approach with strong, positive values that place the service user at the heart of all we do.
* Maintain collaboration with community and inpatient services to support seamless care and facilitation of early discharge where appropriate.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Experience in management is desirable; applications from individuals ready to step into a leadership role are welcome.
* Strong, positive values with a compassionate, person-centred approach.
* Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required; the Trust will cover the DBS cost. Applicants who subscribe to the DBS update service may present a valid DBS certificate instead of a new check.
* The Trust supports ongoing professional development, training, supervision and staff support.
