The Role
As Maths Second in Charge, you will support the Head of Department in leading curriculum planning, overseeing assessment and data analysis, and driving attainment across all year groups. You will deliver outstanding Maths lessons, contribute to staff development within the department, lead on intervention strategies, and play an active role in enrichment provision including Maths challenges, problem-solving clubs, and UKMT competition preparation. Building strong, productive relationships with pupils, colleagues, and parents will be central to your leadership approach.
What the School is Looking For
Hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Strong academic background 2:1 or above in Mathematics or a related discipline, ideally from a Russell Group university
Proven track record of successful secondary Maths teaching in a UK school, with strong pupil outcomes
Experience of, or aptitude for, leadership, curriculum development, or staff mentoring
Confidence working within whole-school assessment and behaviour systems
Right to work in the UK (no sponsorship available)
Salary & Contract
Outer London MPS: £37,870£50,474 | UPS up to £56,154. TLR2 attached.
