We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Deputy Manager in a Residential unit for young people and adults with Learning Disabilities, Autism (ASD) challenging behaviour and other Mental Health issues at our Unit in Gravesend, Kent.
Your Responsibilities
* To support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day management of the unit
* To undertake paperwork duties, taking audits, checking all documentations are completed correctly in accordance with our standards.
* Resolving day to day problematical issues which may arise.
* Safeguarding service users at all times.
* To take a hands-on approach in supporting the daily activities of service users and ensuring the care we provide is person-centred
* To ensure that service user's care plan, risk assessment and other related documents are complete, accurate and update.
* Able to deal with challenging behaviour and challenging situations
* To cover for the Registered Manager during their absence and to implement actions to meet and maintain care standard required by legislation and the local authorities
* To ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to.
* Must be flexible in schedule especially in regards to covering absences. The role requires to do sleep in and weekend shifts.
* Responsible for managing staff, including induction, training and supervision.
* Ensuring that practitioners are competent in their work.
About You:
* Displaying a caring, supportive and proactive approach
* Being organised and have a good time management skill
* An effective team leader
* Experience of administering medication
* Understanding of CQC regulations and legislative requirements.
* Proven record of excellent team leadership in services dealing with mental health, learning disabilities, autism, sexual harmful behaviour and challenging behaviour.
* Hold a degree or a level 3 in Health and Social Care and working towards level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health and Social Care
* At least three years' experience as a Team Leader or senior support worker
