Our client, a top-tier global law firm, is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to support its London Corporate/M&A practice. This is a senior, partner-facing role acting as a trusted adviser to partners and leading the practice’s market positioning, profile-raising and client engagement strategy.
Embedded within the London M&A team, the role combines strategic advisory work with hands-on delivery across campaigns, pitches, events and digital activity, working closely with partners and specialist BD colleagues.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise London M&A partners on go-to-market strategy, growth priorities and client engagement
* Lead the practice’s profile-raising and market positioning through integrated, multi-channel campaigns
* Develop and execute client targeting and account engagement plans to drive instructions
* Manage awards submissions, deal credentials and market recognition activity
* Lead and support client events, roundtables and senior-level engagement programmes
* Oversee pitch strategy and execution in collaboration with the Corporate Pitch team
* Track and report on BD activity, campaign performance and client engagement metrics
* Collaborate with BD teams across offices to amplify London-originated initiatives
Requirements
* 7+ years’ business development experience in a professional services environment (Corporate/M&A experience strongly preferred)
* Proven ability to advise and influence senior partners
* Strong commercial judgement, strategic thinking and delivery capability
* Excellent written, verbal and stakeholder management skills
* Highly organised, autonomous and comfortable managing multiple priorities
* Advanced proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and CRM systems
* International experience advantageous
