What you'll be doing
As a 2D Animator specialising in Motion Graphics and/or Character Animation. You’ll play a key role in producing engaging and informative animations that communicate vital health and safety messages across a wide range of workplace environments.
You’ll be responsible for designing and animating 2D graphics, motion design elements, and character animations, bringing scripts and storyboards to life with clear, dynamic, and visually compelling sequences.
Working closely with our production team and clients, you’ll ensure each project is delivered to the highest standard—aligned with the brief, brand guidelines, and key messaging goals.
Key areas of responsibility
* Create high-quality 2D animations across a variety of video projects, including induction content, explainer videos, safety animations, training materials, product demos, and promotional content.
* Design and animate engaging motion graphics, visual effects, and on-screen text to enhance storytelling and support the overall video narrative.
* Bring scripts and storyboards to life by animating characters or elements in a clear, expressive, and stylistically consistent way.
* Interpret creative briefs and storyboards, transforming them into visually compelling and technically sound animations.
* Collaborate closely with internal teams, including content and software experts, to deliver creative solutions from concept through to final output.
* Maintain well-organised project files to ensure easy access and efficiency for future updates.
* Manage multiple projects and timelines within a fast-paced production environment, ensuring high-quality and on-time delivery.
* Stay up to date with industry trends, animation techniques, and software developments to continuously improve creative output.
The skills you need
* Proven experience as a 2D animator/motion designer, ideally in an agency or production environment
* Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, especially After Effects, Illustrator, Photoshop, and Premiere Pro
* Solid understanding of animation principles, character movement, timing, typography, and storytelling
* A creative mindset with a strong portfolio showcasing 2D, motion graphics, and character animation work
* Experience with audio syncing and integrating voiceovers and sound effects into animations
* Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to deliver high-quality work under tight deadlines
* Highly organised, with strong digital asset management and file handling skills
* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with confidence in taking and applying feedback
* Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
* Awareness of AI tools and how they can support animation workflows
* Commitment to ongoing personal development and staying current with industry trends
* Experience in character animation and rigging
* Understanding of video production workflows and how animation integrates with wider projects
* Experience working with clients in technical, industrial, or safety-focused sectors
* Basic knowledge of sound design and audio syncing
* Familiarity with Cinema 4D, Blender, or similar 3D tools is desirable
