Our client, a leading player in the defence and security sector, is currently seeking a Structural Integrity Engineer to join their team on a contract basis in Derby. This role involves supporting crucial nuclear programmes, including UK Submarines, and ensuring the integrity of both existing and new nuclear establishments.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supporting various nuclear programmes by providing structural integrity expertise
* Conducting finite element analysis and complex structural integrity assessments
* Producing technical documentation, including calculations and reports
* Working collaboratively within multidisciplinary engineering teams
* Taking responsibility for projects from inception to completion
* Ensuring project delivery meets time, quality, and cost objectives
Job Requirements:
* Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
* Experience in the nuclear sector (design, analysis, technical substantiation) is desirable
* Experience in performing complex structural integrity assessments (including Fatigue, Fatigue Crack Growth, and Fracture assessments)
* Familiarity with relevant codes such as ASME III and R6
* Experience in delivering technical projects and services
* Proficiency in producing key technical documentation
* Excellent communication and presentation skills
* Security clearance (SC) is required for this role
