Description We have a full-time vacancy for a Business Support Assistant whose core focus will be to support our Public Health Nursing, Named Nurse. The Named Nurse for Public Health Nursing provides Safeguarding leadership and advice for Public Health Nursing Service. The role supports and challenges the service to work effectively to safeguard children from neglect and abuse by professionals, volunteers and those in public office who have direct contact or responsibility for children. The Business Support Assistant will deliver the full range of administrative functions to the Named Nurse, and the wider Safeguarding service as required. Duties will involve a range of tasks & responsibilities including; Be a first point of contact for the Named Nurse, providing advice on the Named Nurse role and process, signposting to appropriate services as required. Liaise effectively with internal and external agencies, to share information securely, in order to ensure children and or vulnerable adults are kept safe from risk of harm. Provision of professional, high quality and consistent administrative support in order to respond in a clear, timely and appropriate manner that promotes positive outcomes for children. Assist the Named Nurse with the timely follow up of specific information by chasing agencies (internal and external) for updates, extracting the relevant information and appropriately recording it. Maintain and update databases/trackers to ensure data is accurate and up to date. Collate and present data in a variety of formats and provide basic analysis of statistical information from Health databases for use at training events, meetings and for reports. Arrange, attend and take notes of meetings and support relevant meetings needing a minute taker as required. Be able to manage and prioritise workload effectively to meet statutory and non-statutory deadlines. Provide technical assistance and training to the Named Nurse with IT hardware and software. Attend training events and meetings to provide technical and administrative support. Diary management and book training courses, travel and accommodation when requested. To provide support and cover for other administrative staff and the wider Safeguarding Service as required. Whilst the location/work base for these roles has been specified, our evolving ways of working means that the role may require you to work remotely (e.g. from home/other locations). We work flexibly to most effectively support the people, services and organisations that we support and will discuss this with you during the recruitment process. There will be a requirement to assist with the delivery of business support within our core business hours, Monday – Thursday 08.45 – 17.15 & Fridays 08.45 – 16.45. Applicants should have 4 GCSEs (A-C), or equivalent, including English and Maths and have excellent keyboard skills. Experience of working in an office environment would be an advantage. Comprehensive training will be given and once established in the role, opportunities for career development will be available. You will have good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to liaise appropriately with all levels of staff, service users and other agencies. A professional approach, applying discretion and diplomacy is essential. We also require flexibility and the ability to enjoy the challenge of working within a busy team environment, producing good quality, accurate outputs while working to deadlines.
