Role Overview
The successful candidate will provide clinical leadership and direction for the multi professional team in the management of the acute medical patients. The responsibilities include leading ward rounds, directing patient management, performing practical procedures, teaching junior medical and other staff, attending multidisciplinary meetings, participating in governance activity of the department, managing and administering the service, and liaising with other professionals both within and outside the Trust.
Service Details
* 28 bedded Acute Medical Unit on Sandford Ward
* Same Day Emergency Unit runs 7 days a week 08:00 to 22:00 alongside the Emergency Department.
* Acute Medicine consultant present 09:00‑17:00 on weekdays to facilitate rapid and early senior review of patients.
* Waterside 16 bedded General Medicine Ward – ward rounds 2‑3 times a week, daily board round support.
* Acute Medicine Take with consultant leading 09:00‑17:00 on weekdays within the Emergency Department.
* GIM On‑Call element on a 1:11 ratio, on site from 17:00‑19:00 post new admissions and non‑resident until 08:00.

On‑call ratio of 1:11.
Employment Details
Negotiable job plans up to a maximum of 12 PAs.
Less Than Full Time positions are considered and can be discussed with Dr Bhat.
