A successful trading company require a Shipping Administrator on a 12 month FTC period to cover maternity. The role will focus on supporting logistics and shipping operations for the business; 3PL liaison, creating shipping documents (including Bills of Lading), invoice reconciliation/consolidation in SAP and general administration.
Reporting to the Logistics Manager, the Shipping Administrator will be responsible for coordinating largely by ocean freight, equipment and materials from Europe to customers in the Middle East, Africa and Asia. This is a 12 month FTC start to cover maternity.
Specific duties of the Shipping Administrator include:
Coordination of the end-to-end logistics process
Liaison with freight forwarders and 3PL parties -place bookings and confirm details
Ensure shipping documentation (including Bills of Lading) is accurate and compliant with Incoterms
Monitor and track shipments through to delivery, identifying and reporting bottlenecks or issues
Maintain accurate records of all shipping data within SAP
General administration to support shipping and logistics department
Shipping Administrators should meet the following criteria:
Previous experience in a logistics, shipping or freight forwarding role
SAP literacy is advantageous
Exposure to ocean or sea, container freight is advantageous but not essential
Confident user of MS Excel
Strong knowledge of shipping documents and incoterms
Comfortable with a 12 month FTC - 4 days in office in NW8 and 1 remote
