Job Title: PA – Tax Team
Salary: up to £32,000 per annum (plus excellent benefits)

An excellent opportunity has arisen to join a highly regarded and well-established legal firm in Edinburgh as a PA / Legal Secretary within its Private Wealth & Tax Division.
This is a key role supporting a busy, growing and highly supportive Tax Team, offering variety, responsibility and the chance to work closely with senior professionals in a respected environment.
The Team

The Role
Reporting into the Partner, you will provide efficient, proactive PA, administrative and secretarial support, acting as a central point of contact and ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations.
Key Responsibilities
Acting as the first point of contact for the Tax Team, managing and directing internal and external queries
Assisting with the collection of AML documentation
Making HMRC payments in January and July
Preparing mail merges and standard correspondence, including Tax Information Requests, reminders and payment chasers
Producing standard letters to accompany Tax Returns
Assisting with HMRC communications via phone and correspondence
Providing cover for the Administration Assistant, including:
Managing control sheets
Mailings and team mailbox
Incoming and outgoing post
Preparing tax fee schedules and supporting billing processes
Accurately completing pre-bills and time recording updates
Handling incoming communications (email, post and faxes), often responding on behalf of the team
Liaising confidently with clients and colleagues at all levels
Supporting general administrative tasks including filing, scanning, photocopying and document production
Booking meeting rooms
Assisting across the firm when required and contributing to team decision-making
Proactively identifying training needs and undertaking development where appropriate
Carrying out any other reasonable duties to support the teamAbout You
Previous experience in a legal, professional services or tax environment is highly desirable
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Confident communicator with a professional and approachable manner
Comfortable managing multiple priorities and working to deadlines
