This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineering professional or qualified teacher who is passionate about developing the next generation of engineers through practical, hands-on learning.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering engaging workshop-based sessions across a range of engineering disciplines, supporting learners in developing key technical skills and industry knowledge. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a practical teaching environment and enjoys working with motivated students in an FE setting.
Key Responsibilities Include:
1. Delivering high-quality workshop and classroom teaching in engineering subjects
2. Supporting students with practical skills such as machining, fabrication, maintenance, and mechanical principles
3. Ensuring a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations within the workshop
4. Planning and assessing lessons in line with curriculum requirements
5. Encouraging student progression, engagement, and achievement
6. Working collaboratively with the wider engineering department and college staff
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
7. Experience teaching engineering in an FE college or training environment
8. Strong workshop skills and knowledge of engineering practices
9. A recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
10. A passion for supporting learners aged 16+
11. Excellent communication and organisational skills
