Our Financial Services Tax team has a diverse and thriving portfolio of notable fund clients based in Scotland, the Regions, London as well as overseas who expect a tailored and focused approach to tax advice. We help and support our clients by identifying their key tax concerns and advising on strategies to address those concerns.
We help clients with a wide range of issues, from advising on the establishment of new funds, providing tax compliance services throughout the life of the fund and supporting on fund transactions. Financial Services tax matters can be extremely challenging and often involve complex interactions between the principal taxes as well as international taxes which requires liaising with overseas advisors.
Primary responsibilities:
* Assist with the preparation of UK partnership and corporation tax compliance;
* Assist with the provision of tax advice in all aspects of UK investment fund advisory work:
o Drafting advisry reports on the establishment of fund structures, restructuring of investment managers and the acquisition / disposal of investments;
o Wrking to client, or Partner, set deadlines to deliver completed reports; and
o Prviding clients with ad-hoc advice on day-to-day planning issues
* Undertaking technical research projects with support of management;
* Establishing and managing both internal and external relationships; and
* Involvement in business development and marketing initiatives.
What we look for
You will be a recent Graduate with (or working towards) a first class or 2:1 honours degree in any subject.
Alongside this you will have a growth mindset and a passion for learning. You will demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and take pride in your work. Good time management, problem solving skills and the ability to make sound judgements are essential along with a can-do approach.
