Technical Advisor - Monitoring and Data Systems Team

Overview
You will join the Monitoring Data & Systems (MDS) Team – responsible for the management of key environmental monitoring systems and datasets across water quality, fish, biology, ecology, and water quantity.
Key Responsibilities
* Set up and manage users for monitoring systems.
* Support users and resolve issues, especially during the transition to the new My Environment application.
* Update, improve and maintain datasets.
* Respond to internal and external data requests.
* Support system improvement and upgrade projects.
Qualifications and Experience
* Experience working with large, complex datasets.
* Willingness to develop new technical skills and apply them across monitoring data and systems.
* A motivated, organized, friendly, and detail‑oriented person comfortable working in a dispersed team.
* Strong problem‑solving skills and proactive attitude.
* Excellent written and verbal communication – able to convey complex technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
* Ability to build relationships, deliver through others and provide excellent customer service.
* Desirable: experience managing environmental monitoring data systems; experience with PowerBI, Access, Excel, Python, SharePoint Online, and R; working knowledge of water quality monitoring.

Work Location and Hours
Work location is flexible; you must have a base at one of our offices across England and be available for travel as required. Interviews will be conducted via MS Teams in late December or early January.
