Pay: up to £52,442 per year
Employer pension: 28.97% contribution (worth over £12,000 per year)
Holiday: 26 days rising to 31 days over time, plus up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi‑time
About the role
We’re looking for a Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our Hybrid Cloud Services team at DWP Digital, the UK’s largest government department. You’ll build and maintain digital solutions used by millions of people across the UK, applying leading‑edge technology and fresh ideas.
Key responsibilities
 * Develop, implement, maintain, and review systems and services to ensure delivery of best practices while working with stakeholders at all levels to set priorities, objectives, and timescales.
 * Identify and automate toil to improve efficiency, using scripts in Python and Bash.
 * Write and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform.
 * Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab or equivalent.
 * Manage and maintain cloud infrastructure services and cloud networking.
 * Respond to alerts and perform troubleshooting using runbooks.
What you’ll do
You will be a hands‑on engineer working with AWS, Azure or GCP, using infrastructure‑as‑code, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud‑native networking to build secure, scalable platforms. You’ll design with resilience and security in mind, embed controls to mitigate threats, and ensure our services stay reliable and performant. You’ll collaborate closely with other engineering teams and shape solutions that meet real user needs. You’ll also help keep DWP’s cloud services running smoothly, support live products, respond to incidents, and continuously improve our infrastructure.
