Job Purpose
To work as an effective member of the nursery team, delivering a flexible, high‑quality early learning and childcare service that meets the individual needs of children and their families, ensuring wellbeing and improving outcomes for children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
* Relate to children, parents, carers and other professional colleagues.
* Assess children’s development and plan to extend their learning in a motivating way.
* Communicate effectively in verbal, non‑verbal and written forms.
* Act as an attentive observer and listener.
Qualifications
* HNC Early Education and Childcare / NVQ Level 3 Children’s Care and Development (NNEB) or equivalent.
* Registration with or eligibility to register with the SSSC.
* PVG Membership for Regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults, or willingness to obtain prior to formal offer.
Other Requirements
PVG membership costs are covered under council policy for roles with an annual salary of £30,000 or more. Details are available in the attached job profile.
