We are looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join Galliford Try’s Asset Intelligence business, supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure projects within the UK water utility sector.

We are looking for a Commissioning Engineer to join Galliford Try’s Asset Intelligence business, supporting the delivery of critical infrastructure projects within the UK water utility sector.
This role is responsible for the safe, effective, and timely commissioning of electronic security systems, ensuring assets are brought into operational service in accordance with client and regulatory requirements.
Ideally based in the North West, you will be required to travel across multiple project sites within the region.
What you will be doing
* Testing and commissioning of electronic security systems, including:
o Intruder detection systems (panels and devices)
o CCTV / video surveillance systems
o Access control systems
o Intercom and audio challenge systems
o Perimeter intrusion detection (PIDS) and hatch alarm systems
* Completion of commissioning documentation, including:
o Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs)
o Inspection and Test Reports (ITRs)
o Operational and training manuals
* Reviewing technical drawings and developing commissioning strategies aligned to client specifications
* Attending commissioning meetings with client engineering and operational teams
* Liaising with suppliers and subcontractors throughout installation and commissioning
* Planning and coordinating commissioning activities across multiple sites
* Delivering client training, both operational and technical
* Fault finding and problem-solving using industry best practices
* Maintain a safe working environment at all times
About You
* Experience commissioning electronic security systems in industrial environments
* Industry applicable ONC or City & Guilds / NVQ equivalent
* Strong fault‑finding and diagnostic skills
* Previous experience working in Water industry (desirable)
