Join us as a Recovery Worker in West Dunbartonshire.
We are recruiting Casual Recovery Workers to support our new & exciting WithYou Community Service in West Dunbartonshire which opens in January 2026. Our service will support people concerned about their own or someone else's alcohol or drug use. We will have a main Recovery Base however much of our work will be carried out across the local community. We work with people at all stages on their journey providing both one to one support and structured group work, alongside wellbeing and social activities.

Job Opportunity
We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic individuals who are motivated to work as part of a thriving and diverse team, ensuring recovery opportunities are available for individuals at any point in their recovery journey. You will strive to work collaboratively with partners and communities, ensuring that we are as accessible as possible and that the principles of a Recovery Oriented System of Care and true person centred practice are at the heart of all that we do.
You will act as a champion for our clients, sharing your experiences and knowledge and showing change is possible. This means offering a safe space to share their experiences so we can understand their needs and design a support plan that's right for them. An SVQ Level 3 in Social Services and Health care is desirable for this post.
These positions are on a casual basis as and when required, paid hourly at the rate of £14.46.
Essential Skills
We are looking for positive and motivated candidates who are able to communicate with a wide range of people and in different settings. You will also be organised with excellent time management skills.
To be successful in this role you will:
* have attained SVQ level 3 in Social Services & Healthcare or equivalent (this is desirable)
* already be registered with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) or meet the registration requirements
* have some experience of working in a health, social care, or related setting
* have knowledge and understanding of delivering evidence-based interventions
* have experience of delivering group work, specifically in outreach and community settings
* have knowledge of health and safety, including assessing clients in high-risk situations
* have the ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clients and colleagues alike
* be resilient under pressure and able to prioritise your work
* be comfortable using IT and digital media
* A driving license and access to a vehicle is desirable
* able to be flexible with your working hours on occasion and be happy to support other With You locations when needed
Ideally you will also have previous experience of working or volunteering with people who misuse substances. We welcome applications from those with lived experience.
You will also need to meet our safeguarding requirements of a satisfactory enhanced PVG check.
