We are looking for a Transport Planner to join our busy team in Baildon. This is a full-time, office-based role, supporting the day-to-day running of our transport operations.
The successful candidate will plan vehicle movements, liaise with drivers and customers, and take responsibility for completing abnormal load notifications to the relevant authorities.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and allocate daily transport jobs to vehicles and drivers.
* Submit abnormal load notifications to police, highways, and local authorities.
* Communicate with drivers regarding schedules, routes, and instructions.
* Ensure schedules are accurate and updated throughout the day.
* Maintain transport records and provide updates to customers where required.
* Support the transport office with general administration.
What We're Looking For
* Previous experience in a transport office, traffic desk, or planning role (preferred).
* Knowledge of transport regulations and abnormal loads (training can be provided).
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
* Confident with IT systems and Microsoft Office.
* Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
Hours & Benefits
* Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 5:00pm
* 1 in 4 Saturdays, 8:00am – 12:00pm
* Annual leave: 20 days + bank holidays, rising to 22 days after 6 months' probation
