Responsibilities
Job Summary
The Treatment Advocate observes clients' daily activities and assists in their recovery. They collaborate with the Treatment team and support service coordination as needed to ensure comprehensive care addressing recovery barriers.
Duties and Responsibilities:
* Welcome new patients, assist with orientation to programming schedules and rules.
* Conduct belongings search upon patient admission.
* Perform rounds and security checks.
* Coordinate patients' daily schedules, including treatment meetings, behavioral interventions, and general observation of behavior and participation.
* Provide support and encouragement to patients.
* Encourage participation in group, individual, and family counseling services.
* Support clinical services as assigned by the clinical manager.
* Participate in weekly treatment team and staff meetings.
* Ensure documentation complies with contractual, licensure, accreditation, and service standards, following AAC policies.
* Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure quality patient care.
* Provide supportive clinical services to outpatient and inpatient adult populations.
* Identify and report potentially harmful situations or safety concerns to management.
* Adhere to State Department standards, accreditation, and company policies and procedures.
* Maintain professional boundaries and uphold ethical standards.
* Respect patient rights and acknowledge individual recovery needs.
* Communicate professionally with staff, patients, and families.
* Demonstrate dependability and adaptability.
* Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2.
* Assist in managing patient community as a therapeutic environment.
* Intervene in crisis situations to de-escalate and resolve conflicts.
* Maintain professional certifications and CEUs as required.
* Perform other duties as assigned within scope of practice.
Qualifications
Education/Experience:
* Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred in Behavioral Sciences (social sciences, human services, counseling, or psychology).
* State-recognized (IC&RC) alcohol and drug certification required or within six months of completion.
* Minimum of 1 year experience in behavioral healthcare.
* Knowledge of electronic health record software and documentation.
* Ability to read, write, interpret information, and present to groups.
* Proficiency with Google Products.
* Willingness to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and flexible hours.
* Valid driver’s license and insurable driving record (if driving company or personal vehicle for work).
