Recruit4staff are representing a well-established gastropub operator in their search for a Head Chef to work at their well established pub in Deeside
What are client is offering the successful Head Chef:
1. Pay: £42,000 - £45,000 per annum
2. Hours of Work: 45 hour contract - hours will vary on a rota basis (closed on a Monday)
3. Duration: Permanent

Job Role:
5. Responsible for overseeing all aspects of kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and stock management.
6. Developed and maintained high-quality seasonal menus with a focus on fresh, locally sourced ingredients.
7. Managed kitchen budgets, including food cost control, supplier negotiations, and waste reduction strategies.
8. Led, trained, and motivated a team of chefs and kitchen staff to ensure consistent quality and efficient service.
9. Maintained high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in compliance with food safety regulations and health inspections.
10. Collaborated with front-of-house managers to ensure smooth service, including coordinating special events and private functions.
11. Monitored portion control and presentation to maintain brand standards and customer satisfaction.
12. Carried out regular performance reviews and implemented training programmes to support staff development.
13. Handled recruitment, scheduling, and disciplinary procedures in line with company policy.
14. They operate a table service Tuesday - Saturday & carvery service on a Sunday
What our client is looking for in the successful Head Chef:
15. Previous experience working as a head chef - ESSENTIAL
16. Experience of running a busy kitchen - ESSENTIAL
17. Food Hygiene Certificate - ESSENTIAL
18. Formal culinary qualifications (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3 or equivalent) - DESIRABLE
19. Passion for British food, local produce, and creative menu development
20. Strong communication skills
21. Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast-paced kitchen.
22. Team player with a positive attitude and strong communication skills.
