Purpose of the Role: To support the Head of Finance by taking ownership of the group’s finance processes, subsidiary oversight, and control implementation, ensuring accurate and timely reporting, while supporting the growth and integration of newly acquired entities. This role provides broad exposure to group reporting, audits, tax, cash flow management, and systems. It also offers scope for development as the group has ambitious growth plans over the next 4 years. Key Responsibilities: • Lead on month end reporting and analysis. • Prepare and review monthly management accounts for subsidiaries. • Maintain intercompany reconciliations and journals. • Assist with consolidation of group accounts. • Prepare completion account workings and deferred consideration schedules for review. • Support processing of payroll and related reconciliations. • Implement and monitor financial controls at subsidiary level. • Serve as the main point of contact for the group’s tax advisors and accountants. • Lead on audit readiness across the group and, when required, act as the main point of contact for auditors, coordinating and supporting the preparation of audit schedules and responses. • Review and support preparation of subsidiary reconciliations, VAT returns, and bookkeeping accuracy. • Serve as first point of contact for on-site bookkeepers for accounting queries. • Support the group in the implementation and transition to new accounting standards, including lease accounting and revenue recognition under FRS 102, ensuring compliance and accurate reporting. • Support subsidiaries in managing cash flow, forecasting, and invoice finance arrangements. Candidate Profile: Qualification: Newly qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA). Experience: Audit or accounts background, ideally with exposure to multi-entity businesses. Experience within manufacturing preferable Skills & Attributes: Strong technical accounting knowledge and attention to detail. Comfortable managing finance processes and implementing controls across multiple subsidiaries. Proactive, organised, and capable of liaising with finance and non-finance staff. Ambitious and eager to develop their career in a growing multi-entity group, with exposure to group reporting, audits, tax, and integration projects. Experience of Sage Intacct preferred. Location: Yorkshire Frequent travel to multiple sites (typically Leeds and Rotherham areas) with overnight stays. Required to be onsite 2-3 days per week.
