Overview
The role is an exciting opportunity for an experienced administrator with excellent customer service skills to join the Admissions Department at Uppingham School. Each year, Uppingham welcomes around 230 new pupils, both from the UK and overseas, as boarders and day pupils. The Family Engagement Officer guides and supports these families from the moment they accept a place through to their child's arrival at the School, acting as the first point of contact and managing a timeline of key touchpoints from acceptance to arrival. You will maintain regular, positive communication to ensure families are fully informed and engaged at every stage, while managing administrative processes and supporting parents with forms and documentation. By liaising with parents, pupils and colleagues, you will help create a smooth, well-coordinated onboarding experience that builds confidence, strengthens engagement, and fosters a positive relationship with the School.
Responsibilities
* Act as the first point of contact for families after an offer is accepted and manage a timeline of key pre-arrival touchpoints.
* Maintain regular, proactive communication with families to keep them informed and engaged.
* Coordinate the pre-arrival onboarding process and routine administrative tasks, including assisting with forms and documentation.
* Liaise with parents, pupils, and colleagues to ensure a smooth onboarding experience.
* Provide clear guidance on important events and milestones during the pre-arrival period.
About you / Qualifications
* Experienced administrator with a higher-level qualification, or equivalent experience, in customer service and onboarding.
* Strong communication and diplomatic skills with the ability to engage a wide range of people.
* Proficient in using a variety of software, CRM platforms, and databases, including Microsoft Office.
* Able to resolve straightforward to moderate IT issues for parents (e.g., login difficulties or data-entry errors).
