The Role
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Specialist Palliative Care Service covering NHS Lanarkshire .
The post holder will work as a senior advanced practitioner responsible for providing advanced clinical care and management of both the stable and acutely unwell patients and their family, making complex, autonomous decisions using advanced skills and knowledge. They will have overall responsibility for the assessment of care needs and the delivery of advanced care. The post holder will be an experienced clinician, who acting within their professional boundaries will provide care for the presenting patient from initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care. The senior advanced practitioner must demonstrate competence within all four pillars of advanced practice and make professional, autonomous decisions for which he/she is accountable.
The post holder will provide the assessment, examination, diagnosis, management and treatment initiation to a range of adults.

What we'll need you to bring
* Registered Nurse /AHP or Pharmacist with a valid NMC/ HCPC / GPhC registration.
* Completion of Post Graduate Diploma (Masters) in Advanced Practice with evidence of finalising Masters Degree i.e post holder is undertaking the last module of a Masters Degree which is the research dissertation.
* Independent prescriber.
* Be able to demonstrate knowledge of NHS Scotland leadership qualities framework or equivalent framework
* Management knowledge gained through experience and continuous professional development
* Evidence of facilitating learning and teaching
* Professional, leadership and managerial experience within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.
* Extensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within areas of expertise.
* Experience of assessing training needs.
* Experience of resource management (Financial, Human and Capital)
* Knowledge and experience of needs assessment and analysis/interpretation of related data.
* Evidence of sound and effective leadership. Ability to think strategically, and lead a team.
* Evidence of developing innovative solutions in meeting organisational requirements and motivating staff to affect change.
* Evidence of developing teams/services and integrated solutions to complex and challenging problems.
* Experience of appropriate advanced practitioner programme and evidence of completion of advanced practice competency.
* Knowledge and experience of information technology.
* Car Driver a full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence

It would be great if you also have
* Advanced speciality knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within the speciality
