Overview
We are looking for a friendly, enthusiastic and innovative Physiotherapist with a passion for the management of acute surgical patients and improving patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
* Lead the acute surgery team, providing specialist knowledge of post‑major‑surgery care (e.g., gynae, colorectal, upper GI, urology).
* Manage inpatient amputee pathway and support Enhanced Recovery After Surgery (ERAS) programmes.
* Provide therapeutic clinical expertise and high‑quality advice to the multi‑disciplinary team.
* Drive innovation of therapy provision and lead service development projects and audit.
* Provide clinical supervision, appraisal and teaching to physiotherapists and therapy assistants.
* Work closely with the respiratory and orthopaedic teams to maintain streamlined services.
* Participate in the respiratory on‑call rota and contribute to the Respiratory and Critical Care weekend rota (1:6 weekends, with rest days during the week).
* Attend and support training and leadership development opportunities.
Qualifications & Requirements
* Band 7 Physiotherapist is preferred; Band 6 physiotherapist seeking progression is also considered.
* Advanced clinical skills in management of patients following major surgery and in inpatient amputees.
* Leadership qualities to support a team of physiotherapists and integrated therapy assistants.
* Experience working within a multi‑disciplinary team and in acute settings.
