For over 60 years, East 15 has produced actors, directors, producers, theatre practitioners and technicians for the international stage, TV, film and radio. In 2000, East 15 merged with the University of Essex, opening an exciting new chapter in the history of both institutions and offering more opportunities to students, including our specialist courses. East 15 offers an extraordinary, dynamic and unique portfolio of Undergraduate, Masters and PhD courses that span many areas of training for actors, directors, producers, technical theatre specialists and students of theatre practice. A member of the Federation of Drama Schools, it is one of a leading group of UK conservatoires and is now one of the largest specialist drama schools in the UK, with a distinguished international teaching staff and an undergraduate and extensive postgraduate population of over 800 students.

Duties of the Role
We are now looking for an Academic and Operations Administrator to provide day to day support for the Southend campus activities of East 15 Acting School. Responsibilities will include dealing with queries from current and potential students, staff and visiting Director's, providing administrative support for teaching on campus and assisting with the administration of coursework, absence monitoring and recording of assessments.
The post-holder will work in accordance with the Department’s services delivery model, and its principles, values and behaviours.
You will be required to work on a range of university information systems including entering student results into the University database, processing paperwork for a range of departmental meetings/ events and liaising with staff and other departments in the university to support the day-to-day operation of the school.
The post-holder will also be expected to take responsibility for specific initiatives or projects, to provide administration services in relation to courses, modules, and support the work of the professional services team and academic staff as a whole.
This post is fixed-term until 31 July 2026.
Skills and qualifications required
The successful candidate will hold a minimum of 3 A-levels or equivalent qualifications or experience. You will have recent previous experience of working within an administrative role, along with being able to evidence excellent secretarial and organisational skills.
You will have excellent written, interpersonal and communications skills and a proven ability to work independently as well as part of a team. You will evidence strong IT skills in word-processing, Microsoft packages and spread sheets, with the ability to maintain high levels of accuracy and attention to detail being essential
