Overview

Family Support Worker

Band 8, Spinal Column Points 12 - 15 £24,707.89 to £25,939.91 per annum, 37 hours per week, term time only plus PD Days (195 days per year). Permanent. Applications are also welcomed from candidates who wish to work on a part-time basis.


Role and context

Are you passionate about supporting the wider family so that children can reach their full potential? Ayresome Primary School values strong communication between the school and families. As noted in our last Ofsted inspection report: “A very high proportion of pupils join the school partway through their primary education. Leaders prioritise working with parents and carers to minimise the impact of this disruption on pupils’ learning.” (Ofsted May 2023)


Responsibilities

We wish to appoint a highly motivated, enthusiastic and committed Family Support Worker. The successful candidate will:

* Have experience of working with pupils and parents/carers, and with multi‑agency teams to support the needs of individual or groups of pupils.
* Have knowledge and understanding of removing barriers to learning and improving attendance.
* Be an effective role model for pupils by demonstrating positive values, attitudes and behaviour expected from pupils.
* Meet the criteria detailed on the person specification and be able to apply using the provided application form.


Qualifications and requirements

* Suitable qualifications and experience as detailed on the person specification.
* Must apply using the provided application form; CVs will not be accepted.
* Willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check.
