About the role
You will be working with a range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver inclusive engagement, analyse data, and support strategic reporting and decision-making.
This role is pivotal in ensuring that our work aligns with the principles of the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act and meets the requirements of the Public Sector Equality Duty.
On a day-to-day basis, you will:
1. develop and implement a consistent and inclusive approach to engagement and consultation with the public, staff, and stakeholders
2. ensure the Council’s compliance with the Public Sector Equality Duty, including delivering our Strategic Equality Plan, monitoring progress and publishing accessible reports
3. coordinate a framework of engagement groups, ensuring meaningful involvement of service users
4. develop strategies aimed at reducing the impact of poverty, including child poverty and food poverty
5. support the Integrated Impact Assessment process, ensuring effective use of engagement data and other evidence to inform decision-making
Our ideal candidate
You will be passionate about equality, inclusion, and community engagement and have the following key skills:
6. strong interpersonal and communication skills across varied audiences
7. experience in planning and delivering engagement activities
8. confident presenter with excellent report-writing skills
9. organised, proactive, and able to manage competing priorities
10. skilled in coordinating meetings and working independently
11. IT proficient (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Teams, Outlook)
12. enthusiastic team player with a flexible approach
13. full driving licence and ability to travel independently
14. passion for partnership working and collaboration
