Our Client an Engineering company are seeking an Lead Mechanical and Piping Engineer for a permanent position in Warrington location. This role is placed within Oil & Gas, Energy, Utilities, Nuclear, Chemicals or highly regulated industry.
Role
As a Lead Mechanical and Piping Engineer you will be responsible for leading the development of Mechanical and piping engineering and design within multi-discipline EPCM or EPC projects and these projects will range from Concept Design to Execution Designs.
You will have the opportunity to deliver projects working in other sectors (Oil & Gas, Energy, Utilities, Nuclear, Chemicals, and Food), small and large projects. You will lead and mentor a team of engineers and designers.
You are responsible to manage and complete the mechanical and piping design within the defined scope and to time and budget. This includes change control and consistency of the design with the other disciplines. Reporting to the Mechanical Engineering Manager.
Experience
If you have the following profile, then we are looking forward to meeting you
* Hold a qualification in Mechanical Engineering, preferably to Degree level (BEng or MEng)
* Demonstrable experience (5 years plus) as Lead / Senior / Principal Engineer, in multi-discipline engineering projects
* Chartered Engineer (CEng) with IMechE or equivalent institute (Preferable)
* Have a working knowledge of general engineering standards and specification (Essential) and IGEM standards and specifications (Preferred)
* Lead Mechanical Piping Engineer should have knowledge of the principles and practices of mechanical engineering and implementing these in design
* Understanding and knowledge of the other disciplines (Civil, Structural, EC&I and Process)
* Good knowledge and experience with the production and/or having input to mechanical specifications, basis of design, scopes of work, calculations, drawings, 3D models, schedules, design risk assessments and directive compliance assessments
* Experience with the application of piping design codes to ASME and BS EN standards
* Experience working to the requirements of the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) and Pressure Equipment Safety Regulations (PESR)
* Have an appreciation with the main mechanical design packages including for example, AutoCAD, Plant3D, E3D, Caesar II
