This is a key role within the commercial team, responsible for managing strategic customer relationships, driving sustainable growth, and delivering strong commercial performance across a portfolio of retail accounts.
The successful candidate will combine strong account management expertise with a hands-on approach to commercial planning, financial management, and customer development.
Key Responsibilities
1. Lead and develop relationships with a portfolio of grocery and retail customers.
2. Deliver sales growth through effective account planning, customer development, and commercial initiatives.
3. Manage commercial negotiations, pricing strategies, and promotional activity.
4. Monitor and improve account profitability and overall business performance.
5. Prepare forecasts, budgets, and commercial analyses to support decision-making.
6. Work collaboratively with internal teams to ensure excellent customer service and operational delivery.
7. Identify market opportunities and contribute to the wider commercial strategy.
Candidate Profile
8. Demonstrable experience in a commercial, account management, or business development role within grocery, retail, FMCG, or a related sector.
9. Strong understanding of the grocery retail landscape and customer management.
10. Commercially astute with experience managing budgets, forecasts, and profitability.
11. Highly analytical with strong spreadsheet and data analysis skills.
12. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and negotiation abilities.
13. Comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of autonomy and accountability.
14. Proven ability to deliver sales growth and develop long-term customer partnerships.
