What You’ll Be Doing As a CNC Nesting Operator, you will: Operate Nesting SoftwareCreate efficient nesting layouts and cutting paths using specialist software such as ProNest or BodorThinker. Maximise Material YieldOptimise sheet metal usage across galvanised, mild, and stainless steel by combining jobs, using true-shape nesting, and minimising waste. Program Cutting MachinesInterpret engineering drawings and specifications to create or modify G-code programs for fibre laser, plasma, and tube laser machines. Collaborate Across TeamsWork closely with production, engineering, and senior leadership to meet project requirements, production targets, and delivery deadlines. Drive Continuous ImprovementOptimise cutting parameters, review production data, and identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements. Maintain Quality & DocumentationEnsure all parts meet quality standards while maintaining accurate records of material usage and production data. Support Machine OperationsTransfer programs between systems and work with machine operators to ensure correct setup and execution. ?? What We’re Looking For Technical ExpertiseStrong experience with CNC nesting software, CAD/CAM systems, and modern cutting technologies. Analytical MindsetExcellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills for interpreting drawings and optimising complex layouts. Industry KnowledgeSolid understanding of material properties, cutting techniques, and manufacturing processes. Strong CommunicatorClear written and verbal communication skills for effective cross-team collaboration and documentation. Hands-On ExperiencePrevious experience as a CNC operator/programmer in a production environment.
