Trainee Teacher/ 1:1 Teaching Assistant - a life changing role! This role supports autistic children and young people to achieve meaningful and beneficial outcomes through personalised learning opportunities.
This award-winning setting is a specialist day school for autistic children and young people between the ages of 4-18 years. The setting empowers individuals to make positive, personal choices that enhance their wellbeing, social inclusion and education. Since 2012, it has provided a safe and supportive environment where learners work closely with skilled 1:1 teaching assistants/trainee teachers to achieve their educational and personal development goals.
Responsibilities
* Support learners to build confidence, communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and education goals.
* Follow each learner’s bespoke learning plan, designed around their unique skills, educational needs and preferences.
* Collaborate with families and health & social care professionals to ensure every learner receives the best possible support tailored to their aspirations and needs.
* Assist with everyday learning activities and create opportunities for independence and progress.
Requirements
* Experience in an education support or care role.
* Experience supporting learners with SEN would be desirable.
* GCSE Maths and English or equivalent.
* Right to work in the UK.
Details
* Salary: £23,000 per annum
* Hours: Term time only / Monday to Friday, 08:45am - 4:45pm
