This job description outlines the role of a Water Supervisor at Mitie, emphasizing the importance of compliance with technical documents and standards, team management, and stakeholder relationships. The role involves ensuring service delivery meets statutory, mandatory, and routine compliance, developing processes for continual improvement, and contributing to account performance in terms of revenue, profit, and cash. The Water Supervisor is responsible for managing, monitoring, and developing their team, as well as maintaining open and honest relationships with key stakeholders.
The main duties include undertaking Pre Planned Maintenance (PPM) and Reactive Maintenance tasks, being appointed as the Deputy Responsible Person for water by the Authorising Engineer, and ensuring assets are maintained properly with accurate records. The role also involves promoting safe working practices, ensuring Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental (QHSE) compliance, handling escalations and client complaints, and conducting regular toolbox talks and meetings with engineers. Flexibility is required to undertake a range of work beyond the core trade or skill, and to perform complex and non-routine activities.
The Water Supervisor must actively monitor the CAFM system to ensure tasks are assigned and issues are rectified, work in hazardous areas with appropriate safety measures, and maintain legionella and pseudomonas sampling and remedial trackers. They are responsible for planning remedial works and projects, ensuring engineers follow the disinfection process, and completing job-specific training. The role also includes ensuring all reporting and KPI tasks are completed monthly, reading and interpreting water risk assessments, and supervising six engineers responsible for water hygiene activities.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated and driven by social responsibility, with excellent people and communication skills. They should have experience working within acute healthcare premises, although this is not essential. The candidate must be flexible, have a high standard of customer care skills, and be IT literate. HTM qualifications or understanding are preferable. The candidate should be self-motivated, maintain high standards of professionalism and confidentiality, and be able to work under pressure. They should be motivated to seek personal learning and career development, comfortable working with complicated contracts, and able to collaborate with operational and functional colleagues within Mitie.
