Brent Council is offering an initial temporary contract of 3 to 6 months for the role of Sales & Marketing Manager (Communications, Insight & Innovation), with the possibility of conversion to a permanent position for the right candidate. The position is based at HA9 0FJ and will operate on a hybrid schedule.
Responsibilities
* Develop and implement sales and marketing strategies that meet the annual commercial income target for the Conference & Events service.
* Oversee the execution of operational plans to ensure effective service delivery and high standards, integrating best practice and innovative solutions.
* Lead and mentor staff to build a high‑performance culture, including training and professional development.
* Engage stakeholders to support delivery of high‑profile statutory public meetings such as Full Council, Cabinet, committee meetings and the council AGM.
* Maximise team efficiency and resilience by ensuring a multi‑skilled workforce and robust training framework.
* Manage the Sales & Marketing team budget, including monthly monitoring and quarterly summary reports against business plan projections.
Requirements
* Proven commercial operator with a track record of meeting or exceeding income targets through sales, business development, and account management.
* Experience running a busy bookable venue and delivering sales campaigns that convert.
* Strong people and budget management skills.
* Experience in film office/location income is an advantage.
* Degree level education in sales, customer services, business, or marketing, or equivalent practical experience.
