Our Trust is recruiting enthusiastic, highly motivated community midwives/birth centre midwives to join our dynamic, dedicated, forward thinking professional team which serves a wide geographical area with rural and urban communities.
Responsibilities and duties
* Work within the community as an autonomous practitioner within a multi-disciplinary team, maintaining good relationships with other team members to ensure women receive safe care.
* Provide high quality, women-centred maternity care; demonstrate effective leadership and optimise teaching opportunities; give support to all levels of staff; plan and direct activities to provide the optimal standard of care.
* Deliver education to women and their families and provide care, advice and supervision throughout the pregnancy continuum.
* Ensure appropriate referrals for mother or child to other agencies and the specialist midwifery team, and provide necessary care advice and supervision wherever possible/appropriate.

Job Description and Person Specification
Essential qualifications: Registered Midwife; evidence of ongoing professional development.
Desirable qualifications: Current driving licence; 1st level degree in relevant field.
Essential experience: Evidence of clinical competence; ability to work autonomously within a multi-disciplinary team; ability to make appropriate clinical decisions and prioritise care needs.
Desirable experience: Additional clinical decision-making experience and ability to prioritise care in a multi-disciplinary setting; commitment to CPD and knowledge of research methodology.
Skills, abilities and knowledge:
Essential: Commitment to CPD; knowledge of research methodology.
Desirable: Understanding the role of Research and Development.
