Job Description: Technical Engineer
Keyfix, part of the Keystone Group of companies, specialises in the development of non-combustible masonry accessories, providing complete non-combustible cavity solutions for external masonry facades in projects over 18m+.
The Technical Engineer will ensure the Keyfix team produces commercially and technically accurate quotations, communicates effectively with the team to ensure correct mark-ups, and specifies Keyfix products to exceed customer expectations. Responsibilities include prompt query responses, implementing comments, and meeting site delivery dates.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, you will be a key player within our core team, championing continuous improvement, developing growth potential, and delivering excellent customer service, relationships, and commercial targets.
Location and Working Hours
Location: Cookstown
Hours: Monday to Thursday 8.45am-5.00pm and Friday 8.45am-3.30pm — On site
Occasional travel within NI, GB & ROI will be required for relationship development, technical support, or site installations.
Technical Service Responsibilities
1. Generate consistent quotations and manage amendments for high-rise projects.
2. Produce detailed, accurate, and clear production drawings that optimize design efficiency.
3. Provide technical support to engineers, designing non-standard products that align with manufacturing capabilities and costs.
Commercial Service Responsibilities
1. Engage directly with customers via telephone, ensuring high customer satisfaction.
2. Coordinate with production to arrange orders and call-offs per customer schedules.
3. Facilitate and present CPDs as needed, either remotely or in person.
4. Maintain key contact points from order initiation to follow-up, collaborating with other brands when relevant.
Technical Support and Customer Service
* Support internal and external customers, offering outstanding service and demonstrating a proactive attitude.
* Collaborate with the Contract Sales team to ensure real-time delivery information and productivity targets are met.
* Accurately record lead information in the designated format.
Essential Qualifications and Skills
* At least 2 years of experience in a fast-paced construction environment.
* Knowledge of construction details and on-site practices.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Experience in customer service and negotiation roles.
* Target-driven, tenacious, and ambitious attitude.
