Teacher (ASN), Ogilvie School Campus, 35 hours per week, Permanent, Closing Date: 19th June 2025
This post has an 11th August 2025 start date (subject to completion of all recruitment checks)
Ogilvie School Campus is a school for children with a range of additional support needs arising from complex difficulties, sensory impairments, physical disabilities, and Autism spectrum disorder. The school catchment area covers the whole of West Lothian Council.
The school is growing year on year as we continue to expand our Secondary offering. This year will see our first S5 Secondary pupils take forward their education at Ogilvie School Campus. The school will undergo significant structural and educational changes in the coming years to create a dynamic and forward-thinking establishment that meets all pupils' needs in a nurturing environment. Effective learning and teaching are priorities, working alongside a nurturing ethos within the school. Staff are creative, barrier-removing, and caring in their approaches, allowing pupils to access the curriculum appropriately. We celebrate every child's individual success. All staff set high expectations to encourage young people to reach their full potential, enabling them to leave school as effective contributors, successful learners, confident individuals, and responsible citizens.
The school currently has a Head Teacher, approximately 20 teaching staff, 40 Advanced Pupil Support Workers, and 2 Office staff. The school roll is around 100 children.
We are supported by a team of health professionals, including a school nurse, community pediatrician, speech and language therapists, physiotherapist, occupational therapist, and children and mental health team, who meet regularly with staff, children, and parents.
There is a positive ethos across the school; staff, parents, and partners work collaboratively to provide the best possible care for our children.
West Lothian Council is committed to significant changes in how we deliver education services, including providing support and an environment conducive to your professional development. Our commitment is demonstrated by achieving the Investors in People Standard, and we continually strive for service improvements.
A relevant teaching qualification and registration with the General Teaching Council for Scotland are essential.
