Overview
Reporting into the HSE Manager for Cement & Packed Products, the successful Health & Safety Advisor will be supporting, advising and reviewing HSE practices at a site level to prevent incidents, injury, operational losses and occupational health issues. You will also provide constructive feedback from a site perspective to site management team and HSE line manager.
Responsibilities
* Playing a key role in developing, delivering and monitoring the site's HSE strategy
* Providing expert advice and support on all safety and health matters
* Maintaining the site H&S Management System to ISO 45001 requirements
* Undertaking inspections & audits of site to ensure consistent application of internal standards and legislative requirements
* Producing reports with suggested recommendations and trend data
* Managing the communication and roll out of H&S initiatives, campaigns, new standards and procedures
* When required, challenge and support line management to ensure incident investigations are thorough and get to root cause with suitable corrective actions
* Review site incident statistics (leading & lagging) to identify trends and areas for improvement
* Developing and implementing HS&E campaigns, safety days and continuous improvement plans in agreement with the HSE Manager
Qualifications
* Experience of similar role/level within a relevant sector
* Experience of applying processes that are tailored to business need e.g. incident investigation and mitigation
* NEBOSH Certificate
* A proven knowledge of relevant legislation & dealing with regulatory bodies
* An understanding of ISO 45001 and its practical application
