Project Accountant – UK&I Mature
Working Pattern: 5 days per week, Mon - Friday
Working Location: Hybrid, 3 days per week in Filton, Bristol
As a Project Accountant in the UK & International Mature Programmes team, you’ll play a vital role supporting the Defence programmes by providing insightful financial analysis, management and statutory reporting that drives strategic decision-making and programme performance. Your work will directly influence programme performance by converting financial data into clear operational stories, enabling better forecasting and risk management.
Responsibilities
* Partner with the programme management team to provide timely financial commentary and insights, supporting forecasting and linking numbers with operational drivers.
* Prepare management journals to accurately reflect financial performance.
* Maintain strong financial controls, own the balance sheet and ensure compliance with Group policies.
* Deliver end‑to‑end statutory reporting and take ownership of external audit queries.
Qualifications
* Experience in project accounting and financial analysis, ideally within a large or complex organisation.
* Strong ERP skills (ideally SAP) and advanced Excel capabilities, with the ability to build and understand insightful workbooks.
* Ability to explain numbers through operational context and partner effectively with stakeholders.
* Experience in statutory reporting and supporting external audit queries; knowledge of relevant accounting standards essential.
* Proactive mindset with excellent prioritisation and self‑management skills to meet deadlines.
* Collaborative approach, able to work effectively within a team and challenge constructively.
Security Clearance
To work for the Rolls‑Royce Defence business an individual must hold a Security Check clearance. Rolls‑Royce will support the application for Security Clearance if not already in place. Due to the nature of work, only UK nationals or, in MoD approved cases, dual nationals may be considered.
