We're looking for dedicated and nurturing Nursery Assistants for a number of supportive school-based nurseries across Dover, supporting the early development of children. Working as part of a collaborative team, you'll play a vital role in preparing young children for the transition into Reception and beyond.

About the Role
In this role, you'll work closely with experienced Early Years staff and teaching professionals to deliver high-quality care and learning experiences that align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework. Your knowledge of early childhood development will help foster each child's curiosity, confidence, and emotional security within a structured school environment.
Key responsibilities include:
* Supporting children's learning and development in line with EYFS outcomes
* Helping to plan and deliver engaging, play-based activities that promote early literacy, numeracy, and communication skills
* Providing individual and small-group support, including for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN)
* Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting emotional regulation
* Contributing to a smooth daily routine, including snack times, toileting, and transitions
* Observing and recording developmental progress, contributing to planning and parental communication
* Promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere where every child feels safe and valued
Requirements:
* A recognised Early Years qualification (e.g. Level 2 or 3 in Childcare/Early Years Education)
* A warm, patient, and enthusiastic approach to working with young children
* Strong communication and teamwork skills
* An understanding of school-based expectations and the importance of school readiness
* Previous experience in a nursery or early years setting (school-based experience is a plus, but not essential)
