Job Description
Key responsibilities
3. Produce detailed, to‑scale 2D and 3D drawings using AutoCAD and Autodesk Inventor
4. Create general arrangements, fabrication drawings, sheet metal projections and access steelwork designs
5. Manage and control drawings through Vault, coordinating with sales and contracts teams
6. Apply engineering principles and material knowledge to assess manufacturability and constructability
7. Prepare manufacturing lists and bills of materials (BOMs)
8. Liaise with contracts managers, site teams and installation crews on technical construction matters
9. Work closely with production planning and manufacturing on fabrication details
10. Attend internal and client design reviews as required
11. Ensure designs comply with industry standards, health & safety requirements and internal procedures
The Successful Applicant
The successful candidate
12. Holds GCSEs in core technical subjects and/or a CAD‑related qualification; degree‑qualified engineers are encouraged
13. Strong experience using AutoCAD, Autodesk Inventor and Vault Pro (iLogic advantageous)
14. Background in sheet metal, steel fabrication or structural engineering design
15. Confident producing BOMs and working to tight project deadlines
16. Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret and challenge technical drawings
17. Strong communicator who enjoys working with customers and cross‑functional teams
18. Organised, commercially aware and keen to develop professionally
