What You'll Do
As a Pricing Analyst within this innovative South Manchester tech business, you will be at the heart of commercial decision-making. Your day-to-day activities will involve developing robust pricing models that cater to both established offerings and new product launches across global markets. You will collaborate with various departments - such as Product Management, Sales, and Marketing, to ensure that all pricing decisions are informed by thorough data analysis and aligned with overall business objectives. By monitoring industry trends and competitor activity, you will provide actionable insights that help shape strategic direction. Your ability to translate complex data into clear recommendations will be essential in supporting revenue growth targets. Additionally, you will take ownership of maintaining critical pricing infrastructure while ensuring all documentation remains up-to-date. Success in this role requires not only technical proficiency but also strong interpersonal skills to communicate your findings effectively across different levels of the organisation.
* Develop, implement, and maintain standardised pricing models and strategies for a diverse range of products and services across multiple international markets.
* Analyse sales data and financial performance metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of current pricing strategies while identifying areas for improvement.
* Provide insightful analysis on market opportunities, risks, and trends to support ongoing business growth initiatives.
* Deliver accurate periodic forecasting around revenue growth by leveraging advanced data analytics techniques.
* Collaborate closely with Product, Sales, and Marketing teams to understand product positioning, customer segmentation, and the broader impact of pricing decisions.
* Monitor competitor pricing structures and evolving market trends to inform strategic recommendations that enhance competitive advantage.
* Create detailed scenario analyses to assess the potential impact of proposed pricing changes on revenue streams, profit margins, and customer acquisition rates.
* Support new product launches by delivering well-researched pricing recommendations based on value assessments, cost considerations, and competitive benchmarking.
* Own and maintain comprehensive pricing databases, tools, and documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and ease of access for key stakeholders.
* Communicate findings clearly through reports, dashboards, and presentations tailored for leadership teams and cross-functional partners.
What You Bring
To excel as a Pricing Analyst in this forward-thinking role based in Manchester, you will bring proven expertise in quantitative disciplines such as finance or economics along with substantial hands-on experience analysing large datasets. Your background should include designing sophisticated pricing models that inform both tactical decisions (like new product launches) and long-term strategy (such as market expansion). You are adept at using advanced Excel functions alongside SQL-based data extraction methods; familiarity with visualisation platforms like Tableau or Power BI is highly valued. * Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Data Science or a related field.
* A minimum of three years’ experience in pricing analysis, financial modelling or business analytics, ideally within technology-driven environments.
* Advanced proficiency in Excel is essential alongside hands-on experience with SQL queries for extracting actionable insights from large databases.
* Familiarity with leading data visualisation tools such as Tableau, Power BI or Looker enables you to present findings in an accessible manner for non-technical stakeholders.
* Proven track record of building robust pricing models as well as interpreting forecasts and return-on-investment scenarios highlights your analytical acumen.
* Strong business sense combined with the ability to translate raw data into practical recommendations ensures your contributions are always relevant to commercial goals.
* Excellent communication skills are vital for engaging with stakeholders at all levels while presenting complex information clearly through written reports or presentations.
* Meticulous attention to detail coupled with high organisational standards allows you to manage multiple projects simultaneously without compromising quality or accuracy.
