As a Commercial Apprentice at Merseyrail, you’ll develop your skills across key areas including Commercial, Marketing, Customer Relations, and Revenue Protection. You will receive hands-on training and support, playing a vital role in the daily operations of the Commercial Department, helping to increase revenue and ensure smooth business functions.
What You’ll Do:
* Assist with managing contracts and liaising with suppliers.
* Support initiatives to increase commercial revenue and generate new ideas.
* Maintain station poster circuits with latest artwork alongside station staff.
* Manage on-train poster sites, ensuring correct display of marketing, safety, and byelaw posters.
* Monitor key commercial solutions for proper functioning.
* Support the Mtogo team with seasonal admin tasks like stock ordering and system updates.
* Assist with processing online sales orders and packaging for Mtogo stores.
* Collaborate with Loss Prevention and Revenue Protection teams to combat fare evasion and fraud.
* Participate in meetings with commercial partners for insights and experience.
* Learn about travel schemes, refunds, and customer query handling.
What You’ll Bring:
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (Grade 9-4 or A*-C).
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Proactive, organized, with attention to detail.
* Team-player attitude, eager to contribute and learn.
* Interest in pursuing a professional qualification as part of your apprenticeship.
