EPUT is looking to appoint a compassionate Specialty Doctor who will provide consistent, high quality Medical input support to the Adult Community Mental Health team based in Grays Hall, Grays. Main duties of the job The post holder will be expected to work independently and provide clinical leadership to the team, through good multi-professional working. The post holder will have shared responsibility for the clinical care of those patients referred to the team and will be expected to work closely with the consultant and team manager to ensure the provision of an effective service to the patients in community. Grays Hall team provides secondary care mental health services for people in Thurrock, which is a borough in Essex and is a unitary local authority. The post will be part of a community team providing secondary care services to working age adult population. There is an established primary care network (PCN) in the area with which the Grays Hall team link in with and provide input. You should be eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold Section 12 (2) approval under the Mental Health Act 1983. You will also need to provide evidence of achievement of ST1/CT1 competences in psychiatry at time of application and likelihood of achieving CT2 competences in psychiatry by the start date of the post. Person Specification Qualifications Essential • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification Desirable • Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment. and Section 12 (2) approval under the Mental Health Act 1983. Skills Essential • Clinical judgement: experience in making clinical decisions and managing risk. Knows when to seek help, able to prioritise clinical need. • Relevant specialty clinical knowledge: capacity to apply sound clinical knowledge relevant to the job and specialty • Practical skills: shows aptitude for practical skills, required in the job. • Proven ability to work effectively in different clinical settings required in the job Desirable • Experience of working within Adult Psychiatry Experience Essential • Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies by time of appointment in line with GMC standards in Good Medical Desirable • Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies by time of appointment in line with GMC standards in Good Medical Practice Eligibility • Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and Section 12 (2) approval under the Mental Health Act 1983. • Eligibility to work in the UK.
