Teaching Assistant (KS2) – Full-Time, Permanent
Start Date: November 2025
Hours: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday (40 hours/week, excluding a 30-minute unpaid daily break)
Additional Flexibility: Occasional paid cover until 5:30 PM for After School Care Club
We are looking for a warm, enthusiastic, and committed Teaching Assistant to join our vibrant Prep School team. This role focuses on supporting KS2 pupils in both their academic progress and personal development.
Key Responsibilities
· Support the class teacher in delivering a broad and balanced curriculum
· Work with individuals and small groups to reinforce learning in core subjects (e.g., English, Maths)
· Assist pupils with additional learning needs under the guidance of the SENCo or class teacher
· Prepare and organise classroom resources and displays
· Supervise pupils during break times, lunch, school trips, and extracurricular activities
· Contribute to lesson planning and activity evaluation
· Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment
· Communicate professionally with parents, staff, and other stakeholders
· Uphold the values and ethos of the School at all times
Person Specification
Essential:
· A caring, enthusiastic, and proactive approach
· Strong communication and interpersonal skills
· Relevant childcare or TA qualification (e.g., Level 3 NVQ or CACHE)
· Understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures
· Ability to work effectively as part of a team
· Good literacy and numeracy skills (minimum GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths)
· Flexible and solution-focused mindset
Desirable:
· Experience in an independent or preparatory school setting
· Experience supporting pupils with special educational needs
